your brushstrokes with the digital brush are very "digital" looking... I often find myself thinking, when I look at your paintings, that if they were actual paint strokes that your paintings would really be quite brilliant. Something about the roundness of the brushstrokes seems like a waste... like the viewer is cheated out of seeing the 'hand' in the work. This could almost be like a debate about digital vs. real painting. I strive when, I paint here, to constantly make those round, digital strokes not look so like they are done with a computer, as if I'm trying to pass my paintings on here as canvas paintings. You dont bother with that and just let yourself be free... hmmm.

This is digital, we don't need to pretend it's not. It's free and forgiving and the only thing you need to live up to is in your head.

..and I believe that if you sat down with a canvas it would come out just as beautiful. Different, because it's real paint, but just as beautiful. |

So this is supposed to be Scarlett Johanson...but at the moment she bares no resemblance at all! >< I'll keep going later. Tips greatly appreciated!

I knew who it was!How can I do the hair? I'm a little happier with the lips :) But any advice on how to do realistic hair...I'd love it! :)
The hair shape is a little better now, but by no means done. This is actually really fun so I reckon I'll keep going til I'm really happy with it.
I'm considering abandoning my attempts of making her Scarlett and just making her be a random person...

ok see he stopped a while ago, right before a rain storm, to admire the pretty little flower. He was never the brightest guy and sat for quite a while admiring the flower as it grew and finally wilted...by then many rains had come and gone and he had slowly rusted. Now he is stuck admiring the grandchildren and great grandchildren and great great grandchildren of the original flower as they grow from tiny seeds, live their lives then wilt away. It just so happened that this season one of the beautiful blossoms grew in the exact same place as the original giving him a particularlly good view of a little late bloomer.

yep..there is a lady in there.but she isn't alone.see there was this guy and he'd been watching her for a whilethen one night he got up his nerve and went there and asked if he could touch her tasty cakes..and she was all like ''well, only if u bring me a grilled hamburger with blue cheese and red onion on it''...so the next night he brought the burger and she let him touch and taste her tasty cakes and it was love forever after...hell, theyr'e in there eating right now.! ..dirty little buggers!.. |
