This looks amazing as a thumbnail. Maybe a tiny bit of blur would help? |

Yuckyful.
Zack (May 1, 2004)
I love it when people try employing unusual perspectives, and this definitely falls under that category. Cool. What is she looking at, though?
MariaMinamino (May 1, 2004)
Wow - this is such awesome perspecive - and her expression rocks! You coloring is so awesome!
davincipoppalag (May 1, 2004)
I like this alot. I'm not sure what I am seeing though, is SHE the shoe goo on a the big gray shoe? Or is that stuff that looks like her sock stickin out of her shoe it?
mooseflower (edited May 1, 2004)
I guess it does need some explanation. It was just practice with perspective and a person looking into an icky puddle of green stuff, but my sister walked by and went (qoute) "eeewww... shoe goo? yucky." (unquote) hense the title and the description. The sock is there because that shoe's toe was annoying me. A lot. She's looking at and talking to someone who the viewer can't see. |

Conceptual idea for more enemies for a survival-horror game I'm doing.
davincipoppalag (Apr 30, 2004)
I thought it was a picture of someone on the Atkins diet for too long.. lol.. nice.. you achieved a nice feeling of decay in this one.. its unusual.. I like it
Zack (May 1, 2004)
I really like the style here; you make good use of varying line weights. The hairs and coloring give it a sense of rotting flesh. One whiff of this guy would knock a person out for sure.Added background and glow. Darkened shadows on creature.
esaure (May 1, 2004)
whoo, spooky, it so belongs in a dark and haunted dungeon, it would go good in a game. Damn, i need some scary drawing talent like that, be neat. *noodles* |

so cute
Aubrey (May 4, 2004)
Lori... don't be so hard on yourself.. if you think something is impossible of course it'll overwhelm you everytime you try to face it. Fur is something that is really hard to do. Imagine, the Gerbil and Rabbit on the blockbuster commercials took over one million single strand hairs on each one to make them look real. In that respect none of these pictures can look "just LIKE" the photo. If you set impossible goals for how you want your picture to turn out you'll always be disappointed. I think you should be proud. It's a very nice picture of a squirrel. The contrast would come along nicely if only you set high, but realistic, goals for how you want it to turn out. Art is supposed to be a release from life and troubles and turmoil, not create it. Don't stress over a picture.. just relax, you're great :-D
LovelyLori (May 5, 2004)
this is as done as it's getting, I've already gotten extra space once.... thanks Aubrey, such nice words... I've always been a perfectionist, and get real irritated when something doesn't turn out how I want it to.... this little guy would've been better had I taken a different approach from the beginning, but oh well.... lately, I just feel like playing on here, doing things from my mind rather than a reference... and you wouldn't believe how many pics I've deleted recently! lol
DeadlyBlondeArcher (May 5, 2004)
I think he turned out quite nicely, Lori, and I totally understand the perfectionist frustration thing. I have been doing the same thing lately... working on stuff and then just deleting it. One of the first paintings I ever did in real oils I got so mad that I painted a huge black x on it and threw it on the floor. It felt wonderful. (But I was like 8 years old lol) I got in alot of trouble, though. :) And the next day I told my art teacher she was ugly and fat (well... she was, and she was mean to me, too) Sometimes you just have to let it go and do exactly that, draw and paint things that you like just because you like them, and don't worry about if anyone else is going to like it or not. Some of your best stuff will come out like that. Right now I am working on the weirdest picture I never thought I'd do.... just because it's a combination of some of my favorite stuff. Even if it doesn't turn out perfect I'm going to post it and be happy. You should be proud of your squirrel... he looks fat and happy to me. :)
LovelyLori (May 8, 2004)
thanks dba.. well put.... I hate getting so frustrated, and I try to tell myself not to give a damn about it... but it's kinda hard on this site, I want things to look just so for all who view it..... |

The MQ4 Mosquito, weighing in at a mere 35 tons, is expected to become a House Steiner standby. Although lightly armed and armored, the MQ4 is both agile and inexpensive. The 3U variant is intended primarily for peacekeeping operations in an urban environment, being equipped only with 4 MLAS and a heavy machine gun. (Scene and mech are original designs.)
zep (Apr 30, 2004)
this is incredible...who needs 3d max...:)
marcello (Apr 30, 2004)
well he is a sprite god :)
Zack (edited Apr 30, 2004)
Raised in the school of pixel-by-pixel, I was I was. Yeah, I considered putting a traffic light in, but I thought that the wire or bar would get in the way of seeing the mech (not to mention make it more difficult for it to walk around), so we'll just assume that in the future cars have traffic directions built in. Which is cool anyway.
davincipoppalag (Apr 30, 2004)
This finished up great. The details are amazing.. Well done |

First attempt at the "Hentai" look. I think that's what it's called. You know... the japenese cartoon look. Huge eyes, itty-bitty nose and mouth.
Zack (Apr 28, 2004)
actually hentai means hamburger roflmao stupid inside joke that possibly only cello will get
yami_omi (Apr 28, 2004)
hentai means perverse, generally porn... the word you are looking for is either manga or japanime, anime for short. There is not set style for anime. Big eyes little nose is stereotyping but I'm assuming you havne't watched much. Any way just to clear it up a lot of anime can have those features, others are more realistic, and then there are more experimental drawing styles. You;re pictures not bad for a first attempt at a new style, let alone a new medium and style. Good luck on future work
gloworm043 (Apr 30, 2004)

Was riding back today and there was this awesome sunset that I completely failed to capture. And damn the canvas still wasn't wide enough... plus I completely forgot the colors and composition by the time I got on lascaux.
Anna (Nov 16, 2004)
I don't even know how many times I've come back over and over again to look at this since coming to 2Draw. I've been to Santa Fe a few times, and every time I just loooved this scene. It's absolutely beautiful. You really captured the beauty and luminosity of it very well. This is one of my favorites, since I've actually seen this myself.
marcello (Nov 16, 2004)
Actually, this is mainly albuquerque...
staci (Nov 16, 2004)
heh
Anna (Nov 16, 2004)
I stand corrected. Now thinking, I believe the times we go through NM, we passed through there at the crack of dawn. Still equally as beautiful. |
