Happy B-day Lori! I really like that blue cat you drew. Made my day.
Edit* Oh man. You erased it didn't you? Why? Well I drew a yellow cat for you, it's in the beginners live draw.
lori (Jun 6, 2011)
well it isn't yet, but thanks Wraith... yeah I deleted it... shame on me. I've got some sort of deleting issue, sorry :/

Axil62 (Jun 3, 2011)
This is the story of when I was 13 I had some oil paints and I found a piece of drywall about 2' X 2' and I painted some sunflowers in a pot (no not like Vincent's...well kinda I guess..definately not as good) and I gave it to my mom and she liked it. Then a few days later we got into an argument and I destroyed it and left it there for her to see. I could see the hurt on her face but I was too stubborn to admit I felt bad.
Wraith (Jun 4, 2011)
I know that feeling. I was in the 6th grade, and one of my drawings for the art fair came in second place. My mom was proud of it. Then we got into an argument a week or two down, and I scrapped the drawing in the woodstove. Not sure if she really felt bad about it, But I felt really bad afterwards. Made me pretty much give up art until about senior year.

and what a fine doodle it is. she is cute. Edit* At first, thought this and axil62's yellow flower were lori's drawings.

Something I never do, so obviously I don't know what to do with it...
it was inspired by Axil's horse head, and I could use some advice on how to continue it.

no it does not... its good
Wraith (edited Jun 1, 2011)
It's really good, if your into unicorns. Have to say, one of my distant relatives started off drawing unicorns. She now makes Bronze lifelike sculptures for various organizations. (not of unicorns, but human sculptures)
Suntan (Jun 1, 2011)
Axil drew a horse's head?

very much your style..you should finish it.
backmagicwoman (Jun 2, 2011)
Thanks guys..but I really wouldn't even know what to do with it.

ok see he stopped a while ago, right before a rain storm, to admire the pretty little flower. He was never the brightest guy and sat for quite a while admiring the flower as it grew and finally wilted...by then many rains had come and gone and he had slowly rusted. Now he is stuck admiring the grandchildren and great grandchildren and great great grandchildren of the original flower as they grow from tiny seeds, live their lives then wilt away. It just so happened that this season one of the beautiful blossoms grew in the exact same place as the original giving him a particularlly good view of a little late bloomer.

Welp, guess I only logged in "whallago"... (do people in other states run those words together like we do?)....but this caught me by surprise. You're also very, very talented in charicatures.
lori (May 25, 2011)
I haven't the slightest idea how I did all those mouse drawings back then.. now I'm all shaky when I try.
davincipoppalag (May 25, 2011)
I remember this.. you have SO many cool pics ...LOL at cindy's "Whallago"
lori (May 25, 2011)
We all have a lot of cool pics.. some not original, which is better in my opinion... I shouldn't have drawn this caricature because it's someone else's art.. but I don't mind using photo refs.

I see it now!!! Can't believe I didn't recognize the sign. (attribute that to my horrid, rapidly accelerating blindness) There are a couple in Waco, I usually hit one when I'm over that way, in the Dallas/FW area, or traveling anywhere. I agree with Wraith, I'm not crazy about their coffee,...(especially since they only brew one kind now...it's all that other s^!+ they concentrate on...sugar free, fat free, latte crappe frappe with a swirl of foof or whatever that is on top....whatever happened to the dang COFFEE? It's still better than that weak bark water you get at convenience stores, so I'm thankful I can at least get a true hit of caffeine when I'm away from home. (that is when I can afford to sacrifice an arm and a leg for a cup of coffee. - hah -) Again, love the picture, it's totally cool.
davincipoppalag (May 23, 2011)
Yea.. I like plain brown coffee too.. don't like any of those fancy ass places..and the prices they charge are freakin nuts
backmagicwoman (May 23, 2011)

See if this elicits any type of emotion, pull from it something that appeals to your likeness because..."if you were a true artist you would understand the psychology of the brain of an artist who is in depression"

I get "Going through life has been sheer hell for me because when god stuck his finger in my cheek to give me an adorable dimple, he got distracted for a second by some passing seraphim doing a rousing chorus of Hallelujahs and stuck his finger in about an inch too high. Now I have the world's most misplaced dimple and I'm disfigured instead of adorable. Shit."

I sure do like that bronzy highlight on his orbital bone, though.
backmagicwoman (edited May 23, 2011)
I also get ''why did he make me look like a young John O' Hurley?..poo"..
Wraith (edited May 24, 2011)
Hahaha @ GQ Sandal Model.
@Crimson. Even your crap drawings look good.
davincipoppalag (May 24, 2011)
There's certainly a lot of emotion in that face..
