I know this looks like a bunch of nothing that some idiot put together, but, if I recall, there is a famous painter who made a picture with just squares and that was all, coloured squares.
Teapot (Dec 10, 2011)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piet_Mondrian Is this the artist you're thinking of?
Deftihm (Dec 15, 2011)
I think that might be the artist, not for sure though. And thanks for the tip.
davincipoppalag (edited Dec 15, 2011)
If you like patterns and random shapes and colors.. check out Kandinsky kandinsky
enjoydotcom (Dec 16, 2011)
Yes, you're definitely thinking of Piet Mondriaan. |

Always wanted to do stained glass. Made use of the bezier tool, fill tool, intensity and density, harden, soften, dodge and burn. Oh, and made use of fun.
davincipoppalag (Nov 25, 2007)
Congrats on the place!!
Miss_DJ (edited Nov 25, 2007)
Glad this placed, it's wonderful!!
enjoydotcom (Nov 25, 2007)
Yup, there is a bezier tool, and so much better than the one you can use on shi. Thanks for the comments, it was a fun contest.
Teapot (Dec 10, 2011)
It's fun and addictive and expensive, too. The glass and supplies cost quite a lot but you don't need a huge outlay of cash to get started. You should do it! I used to teach classes in stained glass. We made lamps and lidded/hinged boxes in the classes using the Tiffany copper foil method. |

Teapot (Dec 4, 2011)
Very pretty. I went back to look at your other work and notice how this is quite different for you--loose and fast and lovely. But...shouldn't her eyes be closed if she's sleeping? :-) Maybe she just got kissed by Prince Charming.
vlad.the.hamster (Dec 21, 2011)
Ooh, pretty! :D Welcome back! |

I still find showcase stuff I haven't seen before. This is wonderful! Such Van Gogh-ish stroke work.
lori (Jan 20, 2012)
I can't believe this was 3 years ago, it seems like just yesterday. Where is the time going?
dorothyblueeyes (Jan 25, 2012)
this is very impressive, and expressive, and i love the movement in the painting,
Roytje (Dec 9, 2017)
Still one of the best on this site. |

I'd like to know why so many drawing sites favor landscape over portrait orientation for the canvas. If I want to draw a standing figure it has to be so tiny. I never get to put in the sexy footwear. Maybe I'll draw a figure from the shoulders down so I can do the feet.
nekodesu (Oct 19, 2011)
I must say, this drawing is awesome! And this lady's anatomy is great! :P
Alter.Native (Oct 20, 2011)
Nice dynamics and expression!(and somehow the dress feels velvety..)
Miss_DJ (Nov 10, 2011)
very nice draw!
Teapot (Nov 30, 2011)
Thank you, ma'am. I'm real pleased with how this turned out. Pretty rare occurrence for me. |
