I'm glad you're pushing yourself to try new things! This really looks a lot better with a background than without one; it makes the foreground stand out a lot more, too, because of the dark colors.

Im kidding, i dont dislike dave at all its just some friendly banter! i didn't even realise you had bought me a 3 month subscription to DA until a few week's after , i just thought you sorted out my subscription for free.I thought it was really generous and i'd like to thank you now, but because im an asshole 99% of the time i dont think you'll appreciate it much.Maybe i could repay you by drawing you a pretty picture, if you sorted me out a reference.

Wonderful! First time I've seen this one! Love the purples! It's quite challenging to achieve a good lightning strike but I do believe you've reached that goal! Nice work!!! c;
