this Christmas I got a new art table... awesome.. one way better than my old one.... that I found off the side of the road.... I also got a bottle of vodka and a shot glass from my sister.... My white fox got me the table.... And I'm just happy.... Yay....
Sweetcell (Dec 25, 2006)
Let's see, biggest gift I got this year was a dvd/vcr combo, and I was just asking for a new vcr, so my old/new dvd (just got it 2 years ago) goes to pop. Other than that, hmmm unicorn plushie from a brother who asked what I wanted specifically and I said headphones, he said ok, and of course he gets me a unicorn plushie because he knew I liked them (10 to 15 years ago) and one of those weird sparkly fluffy scarves and mitts, which don't fit me and which is far too young for me. Yes, he listens doesn't he? Bath products a gift card and some cash level out the prezzies. Ah well, it get's too hard to get someone something when they're older (but a plushie?)Good for you fox, enjoy it.

thank you sweetcell... I will...hope you get what you want next year..... and Lore, I'm glad that you'll never let go of your dream because I'm the same way.... never let go my friend... never.
Soldifar (Dec 26, 2006)
Wow, congrats, the art table sounds pretty sweet! All I got was a bunch of gift cards, some makeup, and a DVD. XP Those gift cards will be put to good use, yes. Here's to hoping the next Christmases are just as good, if not better than this year.

This would be my second attempt at oekaki. ^_^ I rather like it.The character featured here is supposed to be Takao Kinomiya, from 'Beyblade.' I did him no justice. v_v This time I knew what most of the little buttons and tools did, so I tried to focus more on shading and highlights. I am very bad at highlighting and shading, I think. Need more practice... Still! I like it! *puffs chest out proudly* ...with a very poor background... ah, well. Criticism appreciated!
Soldifar (Dec 26, 2006)
Beyblade! Wow, I used to watch that show when I was younger... Well, the first season at least. Anyway, I would suggest to make your lineart smoother, and a bit thinner. The white of his eye should be there as well, and add some shading on his shirt. More shading should be added to the back of his head, and to his ponytail. Pretty good for a second attempt! You're improving pretty fast. |

I, do. I hate Even though I have to draw with one. How much are tablets anyway? But I don't think a tablet would help me much, I would still suck. x-x;

Thanks I was thinking there was too much skin, I thought that I should put in something I just cant figure out what
Soldifar (Dec 25, 2006)
Hm, perhaps you may want to add the bottom eyelid to take up a bit more space, darken the shading beneath the eye, and make the eyebrow thicker. The detail on the eye is very good. I would also suggest to make the highlights on the eye completely white, to give the eye the liquid quality it posseses.

o0o thanks I would try but Im not sure I would get it right....but I would tryI tried :)

psychofox0 (Dec 24, 2006)
thank you, I have been trying really hard and I'm glad it's paying off..... these memos made me happy :3
Shortiebop (Dec 24, 2006)
good job ....your there already :) why do you keep saying getting better ...... it's awesome work.
Soldifar (Dec 24, 2006)
But all the time and practice is worth it, especially when you compare your recent stuff to your earlier works, isn't it? And I like your character designs, they're very eye-catching. Anyway, agreed on the smooth lineart, whenever I do it the lines look very sketchy and messy.
psychofox0 (Dec 24, 2006)
thanks shortie... but I still have a long way to go....and soldifar... is this the first time you commented on my art.... thank you... and yeah I compare my earlier work to my more recent every day... and It's paying off, yay!..... and yes I put much effort into my characters.... bye |

Is this the right board? So, what made you start drawing, and what made you keep at it? (there's probably already been a thread on this...) Well, let's see...as for me, I originally started somewhere around first grade. What did I draw? Animals. Why? I got some book called "Draw Rainforest Animals" or something, and used that. I didn't draw much back then though. Then, a couple of years later, I became re-obsessed with Sailormoon (I had watched it when I was much much younger, waaay before...

TuffGhost (Dec 22, 2006)
Great work!
Soldifar (Dec 23, 2006)
Very nice... I like how gritty it is, and the chaotic background. Complements the black and white perfectly.
kiketsu (Mar 11, 2007)
this is awesome. i love the B&W for this pic. and i agree with soldifar: i like how gritty it is |

Ugghhh... so, I guess I am only allowed to safety save 3 times? Sorry, my first time on this board. >_> Oh well... I guess it's close enough to done...This wasn't going to be Cid at first- but my cousin said it looked like him (must have been just the goggles XD) so I stuck a cigarette in his mouth and voila! I hope you like it.
Soldifar (Dec 22, 2006)
Hm... Say. Isn't the filter end supposed to be in his mouth? Regardless, it's very nice. I like how you did the fur so far.
ereya (Dec 22, 2006)
Bahahahaha really????? Oh noes... XD I asked my cousin and she said the white end went in the mouth. Haha. Maybe that's how he became so ugly... XD
Swing (Dec 22, 2006)

I like the intensity of his expression, it looks like he's ready to deliver death from above.
