Contemplating Fate

He(She/It?)'s reading the Akashic Record. :O OK... Maybe not. Oh lookie, there's the guy with the hat again. Still open to names for... the both of them, actually. >.> If you feel bothered enough to.
101_Torchic_101 (Dec 29, 2006)
(XDX) Great so far!..=3 They should really both be guys (unless they already are)
Soldifar (Dec 30, 2006)
Ah, thank you. They're both men, but the one in front is so ungodly effeminate (like...everything about him) that I'm considering calling him an it. But I'll probably just leave him as a he, if only for personal amusement. X)
Nambreadnam (Mar 4, 2007)
wow, very nice lineart...hope the colouring is just as good :P |

Hi again. Sorry I haven't done anything these past couple months--school starting again knocked me out of my groove. :/ But I'll try to post regularly. Anyway... This is Echidna from Fire Emblem 6: The Sword of Seals. Ugh, how do people get their pictures to be so smooth? I swear the watercolor tool mocks me sometimes. :( But I've learned a great deal from this. Next time will be much better.

Smooth -> Blur tool ^^
Sweetcell (Mar 4, 2007)
No blur tool. Blur will ruin pieces. Try airbrush on med low opacity and build it up. If you want truly smooth pieces Lascaux works better because it has a blend tool built in. |

Arado Balanga, from Super Robot Taisen Alpha 2 and 3, and Original Generation 2. Ah, much better than the last one, don't you think? I'm getting there, though it still looks too messy for my tastes... (though that's mostly because I need to practice shading clothes). Oh yeah. Happy holidays~
psychofox0 (Dec 25, 2006)
hell yeah your getting there... it's really good.... I enjoy your style ...... never give up........ signed the fox.

I have a biology project due next Tuesday, thus I burn off stress... Or rather, create more stress? I'm terrible, and thus I show my displeasure through my OCs. This is Relám, a weather-influencing/controlling assault android, and has control over lightning and electricity. Several plasma generators are built in within his body, and he specializes in close quarter combat. He also possesses a 'true' AI--he has an ego, can reason and think, and is not considered just a mere weapon or mechanical doll. Relám is unusually hotheaded, and surprisingly not too bright. He is irrascible, moody and very violent, often letting emotions get the best of him. He is very possessive of and submissive to his older twin brother, Vien, and would go to any length to protect him, even die for or together with him if necessary. As for the picture itself, this...took way too long, really. Then again this is also my first time using PaintBBS (tho I'll stick to Shipainter). Knock off an hour for dinner and cleaning the aquarium, knock off another hour because I couldn't decide how I wanted to color this. :/ Settled for the halftones, and it turned out OK... at least for a first try. Lines didn't turn out horribly as I expected (except the hair. I got lazy), so I'm getting better at that. What's important is that I got the concept down, which I'm going to refine. Those are cables that are coming out of his back, by the way. And his hair's like that 'cause he's electric. :O Gah, I can't wait until I feel worthy enough to post on the Intermediate board... I want to work on a bigger canvas. EDIT: Snipped out backstory, it's too big. I ramble too much.
Sugarskull (Dec 27, 2006)
I thought the backstory was interesting. Pretty good for a beginner entry. I'd like to see more.
psychofox0 (Dec 27, 2006)
yes, very interesting... and I can't wait to go intermediate too.... but your closer than I am.... good job and keep it up... signed the fox... |

Arklight Blue, from Super Robot Taisen 64. I lied when I said I was going to do more monochrome, yes. Uh... Knock off about 3 hours off the timer. Had to eat lunch and help my dad assemble some stuff, eheh. This is my first lineless, and I'm going to learn how to do it if it's the last thing I do. I hate doing lineart--it takes up all my time getting it just right, plus my hand isn't steady at all. Even if I do some trimming the lines still look like crap. Not ready to jump to the Intermediate board yet... Probably gonna do one more lineless and a monochrome before I jump. This is only the second oekaki I've done, but now I can see how freakishly addicting it is.
psychofox0 (Dec 23, 2006)
it is freakishly addicting... and nice job I have yet to attempt a line less pic.... this one can't wait to see more pics from you.....
Sweetcell (Dec 23, 2006)
Very nice, has a charcoal feel to it, you'll be ready for inter soon enough. |

I decide to draw a guy with a hat and look how long it takes me...Erm, does anyone want to name him? The shock of how long it took me to finish this has frazzled my brain for the moment. @_@ Going to stick with monochrome for a while...
psychofox0 (Dec 22, 2006)
nice shading...... awesome pic should be on the intermediate board.
Shortiebop (Dec 23, 2006)
yes this is good and should be on the intermidiate board welcome nice talent :) |
