Little pebble upon the sandNow you're lying here in my hand, How many years have you been here? Little human upon the sand From where I'm lying here in your hand, You to me are but a passing breeze. The sun will always shine where you stand Depending in which land You may find yourself. Now you have my blessing, go your way. Happiness runs in a circular motion Thought is like a little boat upon the sea. Everybody is a part of everything anyway, You can have everything if you let yourself be. |

Knockoff (Jun 9, 2006)
Oh, uhm, I just noticed that this is one the advanced board. You should start out on the beginner from now on, please.
SYTHE (Jun 9, 2006)
I like it, very original. For a first pic it shows alot of potential.
HunterKiller_ (Jun 9, 2006)
Great first picture, but no it shouldn't be on the advanced board... |

The rumors are true.
Sufiroyce (Jun 8, 2006)
The picture for the most part is awsome but the beak has no depth to it.
HunterKiller_ (Jun 8, 2006)
COCK!
LisaAnne (edited Jun 8, 2006)
I think it is just lovely. I particularily am drawn to the red areas...love the depth of color and texture. When I look at this I deffinately see the real paint effect. I think though that when you have everything else texturized that the beak may need a little more attention. I don't see this so much as realism, as an expressive color explosion. Just great marcus.---edit---- By the way I love the first version sketch...its got alot of personality.
davincipoppalag (Jun 8, 2006)
This is certainly something different for you Marcus.. very cool! |

love the look of these old b/w photos. portrait practice, bit rough round the edges.. intentionally of course.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited Jun 8, 2006)
I didn't know there was an old guy (scientist/engineer) named Tesla... I had to look it up. The only Tesla I ever knew of was the band, and the only reason I knew about them is because one of my little brothers had a backstage pass at one of their concerts and had one of his guitars autographed by them. I like it when I learn something new. Something about the way you did this reminds me of work by a certain artist...the way the eyes are really dark and almost everything else is soft. I'm drawing a total blank on who it is, though, just know this style looks familiar somehow.( :)... sythe's post showed up same time as I was posting mine... would have saved me from having to look it up!) edit: painting old dead guys is a lot of fun :D
davincipoppalag (Jun 8, 2006)
He was rumored to have been working on all kinds of stuff like that. This is good , if a bit out of focus.
frootcake (Jun 9, 2006)

Amazing. Wonderful skin tones. As far as Valo himself, I'd always been "blah blah what's the big deal" until I saw the music video for "Wings of a Butterfly", and now I'm like "guh". Granted, he sheared off all his hair, and I think that helps him (he looks kind of like a cross between Billy Idol and Billie Joe Armstrong from Greenday in the video.)
wboyer (Jul 10, 2006)
You so are freaking excellent at drawing tattoos, it's not even funny. And your portraits of musicians are just awe-inspiring... You wow me, stasiuk.
cianteed2 (Jul 19, 2006)
Thank you very much.

I'd probally be a better speller if i had an english teacher like this. Or I'd be a worse one. This is cleary just a blueprint so far, of what this what this picture will look like.
Sweetcell (edited Jun 8, 2006)
Well, what does she expect coming to the classroom dressed like that? No I doubt the class won't be paying attention to their books, unless she's reading from it. Poor boys, imagine what will happen when she starts to read poetry. XDThe arms are very long and the hands somewhat small but you know what, they work. I wouldn't change anything. Love your lineart JK.

To Quote Paris Hilton,"That's Hot!" I really like the style, it has a smooth sensuality to it.

marcello (Jun 8, 2006)

SYTHE (Jun 7, 2006)
If I had a .50 Cal like that mounted on the back of my 93' Ford Escort, I'd get all the chicks... Oh Yaaa! Great pic!
Sweetcell (Jun 8, 2006)
That is sad, a well rendered picture but not so fine an image. Is he smiling?
Mal (Jun 29, 2006)
thanks for your comments , It wasnt my intention to show him smiling. It does kinda look like he is though |

I think your monitor must be set much darker than mine... the side in shadow looks on my monitor to be unfinished in a way that suggests you see it much darker.
