Yeah, that conversation look kind of strange, Shults ;)
Teapot (Apr 27, 2010)
Yep, that looks like 'happy' alright. I'm hoping your happy has to do with getting in to art academy. Haven't seen that drama, Flubbles, but I'll look for it now.

Teapot (Mar 28, 2010)
You gotta put your stuff on the advanced board. It disappears too fast on this one. Your highlights are so breathtakingly beautiful, as always.

Today I was talking with some friends of bald women (one considers shaving). Anyways, I was thinking of this picture that whole conversation.

Every once in a while you come up with this piece I must return and see again.
Flubbles (May 2, 2010)
99% of bald woman are lesbians, and I think you'll find this to be a fact.
shults (May 2, 2010)
Might be, but she belongs to that one percent who just hates the Israeli climate so much she's willing to sacrifice her hair. I think.

I like both versions..but, that smile is wonderful, so it's my favorite of the two.
lori (edited Mar 19, 2010)
this is particularly great... it has a simplicity to it.. but it doesn't look simple at all to have done - well done
starsh (Mar 29, 2010)
Beide versies zijn erg mooi. Het meisje spreekt me wel aan, ze ziet er zo vrolijk uit... iets brengt me de laatste dagen steeds weer terug naar deze tekening

Yea the colours are nice, did you know that before the 1920's children of both sexes generally wore white, and both boys and girls of a young age were outfitted in dresses. And when dressing your'e babies in colour evolved in the 1920's , pink was for boys and blue was for girls, and it wasn't until the 40's that the colours were reversed.
backmagicwoman (Mar 14, 2010)
Thisis pretty neat...love the coloring.

Teapot (edited Mar 14, 2010)
I'm glad you're trying watercolour because I think the medium would lend itself to your style. If you can find it, there is a book by a woman I think you would really like. It's called 'How to Make a Watercolor Paint Itself' by Nita Engle. Thanks for sharing your class paintings. It takes awhile to work out all the properties of the different pigments--transparent, opaque, staining, etc. Then you have to play with working wet in wet, wet on dry, dry on dry, and refine your lost and found edge technique. It's hard and frustrating but also the most fun and magical when it works, IMO.
Roytje (May 8, 2010)
Something like this, Teapot? :)
Teapot (May 8, 2010)
Mmmm! Nice interplay of the warm and cool colours together! I got the sense of a forest fire. I am liking how you keep the movement and looseness with your paints. Though I can admire the control achieved, I don't find myself liking watercolours that get too 'tight', too detailed. This painting has a nice balance of a little detail with a lot of impression.
