AFLAC, that's what I was trying to remember.

Poly it's a commercial for Insurance. Car insurance I think. This duck shows up and starts quacking "AFLAC." It gets real annoying after awhile.

Peking Duck is good too. :)
PolythenePam (Jun 26, 2008)
Oh right, yeah, don't have that here.
I don't believe in eating ducks
davincipoppalag (Jun 26, 2008)

I have a thing for these cups. there's like, four of them. I guess they belong to my flatmate but I won't drink my tea out of anything else. they're actually filled with cracks and shit.

Teacups on crack! I would wash the shit out first, it can make tea lumpy. :0)
Sweetcell (Jun 23, 2008)
We had those growing up. I honestly thought they were the ugliest things ever. But you made it pretty. They were heavily glazed and you got that here.
Kulu (Jun 23, 2008)
are the cracks held together with shit? :P
PolythenePam (Jun 23, 2008)

It reminds me of satin curtains you'd see in an old world picture. Then you gave us a close up. You have to do more of these kinds.
PolythenePam (Jun 22, 2008)
I've always thought your techniques were pretty cool, although I haven't always been a fan of inidividual pieces. But I actually really like these fabricy, drapey ones you've just done.

Contest Voting 5
Shanghai (May 16, 2008)
We're going to try a new system of voting for what contest idea gets picked next. Everyone can make one suggestion per contest week, which usually runs for a about 2 weeks before the next contest, and everyone gets to make one vote. Ideas for contests will be posted in this thread, and when enough ideas have been made then we'll start a new round of voting to get ready for the next contest. Currently my Internet access is very limited for the next several days so everything is going to be ...

Poly, that's pretty scary!
thanks Kulu and DJ
Shanghai (May 21, 2008)
I'm really liking this because it's very minimalistic and still works and carries interest. I almost want to say it's an in-your-face type of image but the muted colors keep it from going over the top and I think that was a good choice.
davincipoppalag (May 21, 2008)
Yay.. You won second place Congats!!
Miss_DJ (May 22, 2008)

Ziggi Stardust!

Awesome, awesome job.

Did I spell Ziggi right?
Punky (May 13, 2008)
Sweetcell: It's Ziggy.
And hey! It's David Bowie. I like how you did the eye makeup.
linmacca (May 13, 2008)
Thanks for the comments, everyone. =D

Kulu: I agree; love the TV show.

I like the perspective, it seems so wacky.
Aakyra (May 9, 2008)
The eyes are captivating... she looks young ..but old, drawn somehow. I keep coming back to this piece.. it really is very good.
x_Lucky_Clover_x (May 10, 2008)
She looks like she needs a good cup of coffee.

you should check out the new updates to lascaux with fractional brush sizes, it eliminates some of that discrete stepping in thin lines.

You drive me quackers. Ah fuck it, I don't know what to say. I`m so lonely, and "you drive me quackers" was on the this valentines day card I keep on a necklace from third grade. They love me... I`ll make them.

Diamonds on my windshield
Tears from heaven
Pulling into town on the interstate
Pulling a steel train in the rain
The wind bites my cheek through the wing
Fast flying, freway driving
Always makes me sing

Theres a duster tryin to change my tune
Pulling up fast on the right
Rolling restlessly, twenty-four hour moon

Wisconsin hiker with a cue-ball head
Wishing he was home in a wiscosin bed
Fifteen feet of snow in the east
Colder then a welldiggers ass

Oceanside it ends the ride, san clemente coming up
Sunday desperadoes slip by, gas station closed,
Cruise with a dry back
Orange drive-in the neon billin
Theatres fillin to the brim
Slave girls and a hot spurn bucket full of sin

Metropolitan area with interchange and connections
Fly-by-nights from riverside
Black and white plates, out of state,
Running a little bit late

Sailors jockey for the fast lane
101 dont miss it
Rolling hills and concrete fields
The broken lines on your mind

Eights go east and the fives go north
The merging nexus back and forth
You see your sign, cross the line,
Signalling with a blink

The radios gone off the air
Gives you time to think
You ease it out and you creep across
Intersection light goes out
You hear the rumble
As you fumble for a cigarette
Blazing through this midnight jungle
Remember someone that you met
One more block; the engine talks
And whispers home at last
It whispers, whispers, whispers
home at last, home at last
