you use the other side of the brain? you mean, just take a picture, and view it very objectively, minus any meaning to the picture? your brain just photographs it literally?

It results in forcing you to see more accurately what you're looking at rather than drawing a preconceived notion of what something looks like. Everyone does that unconsciously. I draw better when I have inspiration. Yeah. Partial costume reference used. It was my inspiration. I didn't copy the pose or the face or the hair or anything. Just a bit of the costume. I changed some things with it, though. The rest is original.

'Angel Thing', i.e. Angelic Themed. It is not specifically a angel, just the staff.

*and when I say "simplicity" I mean in a good way. Having simple elegance. I tend to forget some people don't like that term but that's what I was taught to say. >_>

Although the yellow has a slight tilt, I think it works well because it gives continuation to the diagonals in the image.
