It hurt so much worse than I expected it, way deep inside to be alone again, and it took only one look to see why. I should never have been so silent in my support when she mentioned planning to get one when she'd found out. I should have said something... but I didn't. It haunts my nightmares, plagues me in the day all to know I could have said... something. But I did nothing, just as I can now do nothing but have my nightmares and shoulder the burden of silence.
