Help on colouring, shadow and composition?

I would love someone to give some tuts or advice on colouring, shadowing and composition. Its the thing that blocks me the most from reaching a higher level :(

yeah, but he's using the shape very well, with the picture,so he either planned it, or just used the shape very well. i think the height and the narrow panel , and his being partially in the panel, down at the bottom, were very stratigic, ;

maybe the picture is subtley trying to convey a mood, or a statement; like,"here i am, trapped in a narrow area,my only way out, is to look up to the sky and the light." the facial expression also says that, & is slightly grim and serious. This artist knew what he was doing, to convey a message, or mood. VERY good. This person can really tell a story with his pictures. Way to go.

I haven't lost anything, but the tools in Chibi change. I use the watercolor and I get dodge. :\

Well this time I used ref( http://www.photocase.com/de/photodetail.asp?i=200708 )...it's not even near the photo..lmao. Not that it makes any difference. I'm tired for today. Next time I'll do better. funny nose XD

I think he's a vampire with those dead eyes. I think it has potential for being better if you work on it some more.

I'm sorry. i thought I was able to draw an intermediate pic ...I go right back to the beginner board and practice...it looks like crap but I think i learned something drawing it.
