I think they DO have turtle races somewhere, although I have never been to one. Too fast-paced for me. hah
davincipoppalag (Jun 29, 2006)
Great turtleshell..and nice to see you drawing too..
Deino (Jun 30, 2006)
I love turtles, I have one of my own (A Japanese Red Cheek or whatever) x) Beautiful colors.
Sweetcell (Jun 30, 2006)
That's cute, to think some people eat these things. Although tortise shell is beautiful.

Just another face. I'm not sure why I drew this. I was working on adult male faces.

Room for one more edit, but I think I'm a bit tired of this one.

A lovely couple x) Nice drawing :)
nekodesu (Dec 5, 2005)
It looks very nice so far but the things that are bothering me are the lips and the eyes. I think the lips should be fuller and the eyes should be squintied a bit.

There were no other buildings for miles. I wonder what foreign affairs could possibly be handled there and why it would be marked like that.

Ref: I saw this a few days ago.

Yeah, we have at least one billboard in Texas. It's reeeeeeeeyally big. :)
Felistorm (Dec 5, 2005)
LOL DBA. :P I think at this point I'd even go for a foreign affair. :P Been single wayyyyyyy too long. LOL So erm...was that foreign affair or foreign affairs? I notice the S kinda hanging around down there below the rest of it. :P I like the colors and the texture of this.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Dec 5, 2005)
Let's leave the s off, foreign or not, I could only handle one husband and one affair at a time. HAH
Gigge (Dec 6, 2005)
But, Texas is reeeeeeeeyally big. There are so many men to go through.

The S was like that, on a separate line not quite centered. It added to the whole bizarreness of the building.

Not really. I'm just working on my people skills. :) This smaller scale seems to be good for learning about pinpoint highlighting.

I think I'm done, but I may go back and smooth the part or something.

That link doesn't work for me, but this is a wonderful pic without that, anyways. Great stuff, Gigge!

Hey, thanks Laurael! Great to see you back again. :)

I wanted to try drawing another male face. Plus, it's turkey time . . .

Do you think there's any validity to the notion that the difference between the reference and the drawing shows the artist's filter on the world?

Very punny, Clox and ty Punky.
davincipoppalag (Nov 26, 2005)
I sure wish you drew more..this is great, as usual. I like your take on the ref, it gives this much more interest
Gigge (Nov 26, 2005)
Aww, ty Dave. I do draw quite a bit. It just takes me days to even get out a doodle, lol.

Reference used. Crud. I did it again. The option after you submit should allow you to reset the level as well as the stage.

I think the features, along with everything else, are perfect. She looks like a cherub. So pretty.
(it has that renaissance feeling to it)
kristine (Nov 22, 2005)
i love her eyes.
davincipoppalag (Nov 22, 2005)
She's beautiful,Gigge. The details in the hair and the flowers and the eyes are great.
Gigge (Nov 24, 2005)
Hehe, no worries Kristine. Critiques are super cool things to get. Although praise is very nice, especially when sincere, critiques mean that someone took the time to look at the picture and put their thoughts into words. You're absolutely right about the eyes and the cheeks. I started drawing 'life size' so the eyes and cheeks are actually the same size as the reference. But, then I changed my mind and decided I didn't really like the face in the ref and made the nose and mouth smaller. I'll try to pay more attention to proportions next time. :)

Thanks DBA and Dave. I wish I could make the rest of the picture match the eyes. It's good to have goals.

awww. . . . am I the only one here that thinks scorpions are cute?
Great picture. I really like the startled crossed eyes.
Gigge (Oct 26, 2005)
Thank you! Luckily, the only kind of scorpion I've run into in real life are the human kind. I'm glad I live where I do and these things are rare. I think I'd last about 10 seconds in a place like Australia.

Caddris, judging by DBA's choice of husband, I would guess you're not the only one that thinks scorps are cute. ;)
laurael (Oct 26, 2005)
Happy birthday, Gigge. What a horrible situation this would be, huh? Great expression in the eyes!
kejoco (Oct 27, 2005)
No reference...DAMN, great job gigge
Love how that scorpion came out

I believe I would shit myself if this ever happened to me
