Gigge (Jul 14, 2004)
Just wanted to try one with all the colors on full opacity and no blends. But, I have a headache now. So, I'm going to bed and leaving it the way it is.

I was mulling over what to draw next when 'Big Eyed Fish' came on my player. So, I drew a big eyed fish. Ok, since the other link didn't work...http://www.goredsea.com/EN_the-magazine-photo-gallery-gallery-red.aspx. It's the Lion Fish.

Ahh...I see the problem. There's a single quotation in the link that the auto-hyperlink isn't picking up. i'll just leave it. Wouldn't want to upset anyone by not mentioning a reference ;D. The really nosy can type the link if they want.

That's a strange-looking fish but he's kinda cute and very well drawn. :)
DinoFlorist (Jul 6, 2004)
You didn't have to tell me it was a Lion Fish, but the coloration seems different from most I have seen (which are Volitan or Fuzzy Dwarf Lions). I am going to guess that this is a Dwarf anyway.

VERY nice Gigge :D Love all the orange shades you used in it. /clap

This picture is great, every once-in-a-while I get to see one of these around my house. You captured it perfectly!

Based on a photo of my cat. Got a little overzealous with the contrast and shading.

I like this a lot. Nice job on the contrast and shading, Gigge. Pretty cat you have there. :)
Aubrey (Jun 24, 2004)
Very pretty and fluffy cat. I like how half the picture is in the shade and half has all the sun. Good job!
laurael (Jul 1, 2004)
Such a cute cat, this Cleopatra is. She looks very comfortable and content there. The contrast and shadows are done very well...great job. :]

Ok...time to move on. I think I learned alot more from doing this one pic than trying to do several rough sketches. Too bad I learned more toward the end of the draw than the beginning. Maybe I should retitle it 'Tree frog sitting on string of green chile peppers'.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jun 9, 2004)
I think you did a great job, especially since you are new to the tools... I'm still learning (every time I use the applet) I think if you had put some highlights on the outer perameters of the frog it would have brought him to the foreground and separated him from the background a little, but other than that I think it's perfect.
audie (Jun 9, 2004)
Thats real good.
Gigge (Jun 15, 2004)
Yeah, DBA, I was wondering whether I should add a 'glow' around the frog. I got up the courage to ask a mod for more space, but I've just redone 3 pics so I'll wait a bit to touch up this one.
