No, I haven't been able to paint since I lost my regular internet.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Mar 27, 2011)
sorry to hear that.... I could be right behind you. That is if I still have my phone, even. Might be kind of hard to pay the bill while living in a refrigerator box under the overpass haha.
backmagicwoman (Mar 27, 2011)

Cool, marcello. I like the lighting. Looks like the black sun cutting through the forest fog.

Its so pretty and intense! Great detail!
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Mar 26, 2011)
I was checking out your gallery and this "caught my eye" immediately (boy am I full of horrid puns this morning... lol... sorry) Eyes can be extremely difficult, and sooo annoying to view if not done well. This one is very well done, in my opinion. I like what you do with your composition of singular, seemingly simple objects... making them the point of interest without centering them or pointing arrows and screaming "hey, look, here's what you're supposed to see!!!" (not literally, but you get what I mean)

Frankly,I think itchy's is better than the Picasso. (My opinion.) Itchy's work was far harder to do,trickier, and took more detail, patience, than the Picasso. All the work of Itchy's is more delicate, subtle, and that was never a trait that Picasso could do.He was just a big, bold BULL. I think it's easier to make sweeping, bold statements; but the subtle, tricky hard stuff of depicting reality, without making it too stiff, is very demanding. Excellent, Itchy.
itchymonkey (Mar 23, 2011)
well thanks, you are too kind.
lori (Mar 23, 2011)
this bulged my eyes out :) I love it.
marcello (Mar 24, 2011)
being a successful artist is just as much about being a good salesman as being a good artist. you have to understand the works in the context of the times, how they are presented, and how they are received.

monetary worth is arbirtrary, anyway. why do people pay thousands of dollars for some t-shirt that a rock star wore? if I were to tell you I had a painting by pablo picasso in my museum, you'd be far more interested in visiting than if I said I had some schmuck you've never heard of. that's worth money.

I agree I really like this one!!!!!!
Miss_DJ (Oct 6, 2010)
Thanks, Felistorm!!
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Mar 11, 2011)
It's not necessary to try to change the tusks to make them "this or that", "correct" anything, or whatever.... it's obviously not meant to be realism. It's surreal and dreamy, then the tusks give it a sharp edginess I like. Kind of like the personality of elephants, so sweet and loyal, family oriented, but when threatened can be extremely vicious, enacting intelligently planned revenges, even. I love ephalumps, love the picture.
Miss_DJ (Mar 12, 2011)
Thanks!! Man I miss you around here!! ♥♥♥♥

and all the while, unbeknownst to her...evil poop elves were lurking behind every poop stained toilet just waitng for her to fall asleep so the could put even more poop on her already poop stained dress....and as if this weren't trying enough for the young lass...in the corner, just out of reach of the light, grew the deadly carnivorous blah blah poop plant ready to strike her down at the first oppurtunity....
Axil62 (Dec 11, 2010)
Now, she had dealt with carnivorous blah blah poop plants before but this one was different. It was all gray and didn't look like a carnivorous blah blah poop plant at all. It made her feel uneasy but what could she do short of desperately trying to stuff herself down one of the toilets in a futile attempt to escape the confines of this shit hole she's come to know as home.
backmagicwoman (Dec 11, 2010)
...to be continued. Don't forget to tune in tomorrow kiddies!...it's gonna be pooptastic!
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Mar 11, 2011)
Hmmm...Think I'll disregard the Poopology in the PoopJournals above,....(eww, icky, urp)

What I saw when I viewed it was a cold, tired, frightened, helpless little girl in a hopeless situation who never gave up hoping (and praying) anyway... until there was a dawn, and a light, (a light that obviously warmed her instantly) and I see an angel in the light. I love it.

This is a drawing. I did it in Lascaux. It's greyscale. It's a guy at a computer. He's saying "Hello" to some other person somewhere.
