To those of you Sudanese who are suffering for Jesus Christ, who have had your homes burned, and many, your families crucified in mass crucifixtions:

"Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all of our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ." 2 Corinthians 1:3-5

"Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 5:10

"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every wieght, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."
Hebrew 12:1-2

God, please help them to endure in their tribulation; help them to stand for your sake, and give them comfort and consolation in their time of trouble. I pray these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

I am awestruck. This is one of the most moving pieces I have seen on the site. This is very excellent work. You have conveyed pain (mostly on my back) and suffering to me, without using much detail. Bravo, Coolsoft!

Thanks, but had not God laid on the heart of the pastor of my church a mission's conference about the persecuted church, I probably never would have drawn this. Hebrews 13:3, "...as bound with them..."

It reminds me of the things that hopeless romantics imagine... umm... needed some practice with my tablet. I wasn't really going to color it.. so it's a bit of a line art image. I really needs some work, but I don't have the time to do something to it.

This is cool. I love the style. The only thing I would suggest is to leave in more of the darker value. For example, leave more areas... unscratched (?). (That's what this looks like to me... scraffito). Leaving more areas blue in this pic will show off more of the picture itself. ...if that made any sense. lol. Maybe even use the blue you have on there as a middle value? And use a darker value for the darkest parts?? It's a possibility. Yes, anyway... the face is very well done considering the style! Tres bien!

Another Paint BBS drawing. Umm, well, I've never studied hand anatomy, so this is a little off.(I think.)

Ok..then the sword you drew is a bit out of line with the hilt as I said in the first comment.
Coolsoft (Jul 6, 2004)
Yeah. I think it is.
emmamommalag (Jul 6, 2004)
Even so... it's a very nice picture. I like your work on the hands.

I know I can't write with the tablet, but you couldn't very well either when you started using yours.(not that that's much of an excuse...) Don't everybody answer at once..lol.

Well, it is okay, but I have seen some of your work, I can't write very good with the tablet either!
Hope to see more of your awesome artwork, and less of your '7 min artwork!
Coolsoft (Jun 18, 2004)
Lol, this is part of a comic strip. It shouldn't take much longer than 7 min unless I can't come up with a joke.
CRAZYCHICA (Jun 18, 2004)
oh, still think your work is cool, comic strip or not!

Okay, the poster pic for my comic strip lol... I actually used to be able to sell some of the lame humor in it. sorry about the messy lines, will try to fix that, as I go along.

lp_phaery (Jun 3, 2004)
you definetly captured the wildness of it. its, as thesolarwinds said, beautiful!.
starmarked (Jun 4, 2004)
kind of looks like you caught the horse in motion..like a photograph.. neat!
Coolsoft (Jun 4, 2004)
Starmarked: its supposed to look like it's in motion. As to what it means... well, that's the only title I could think of when I looked at the picture when I was done.

Impressionistic style castle. looks like it's curving to the right. Started experimenting with the blue and orange after seeing a painting by Claude Monet.

This is very interesting. I love the impressionists.. this has the same kind of look. You can see the subject better in the thumb
Coolsoft (Jun 3, 2004)
Yeah, I was going to say that this looked better zoomed out to 25%.

I've heard art schools frown on stuff that's painted from the imagination... call it lack of models or photographs.. maybe it needs a background, Criticizm?
Looks pretty sad. (both emotionally and artwise...)
I'm afraid that if I try to edit it again, I'll ruin it.. oh well... set to finished after trying to edit it...

This is nice so far!
emmamommalag (May 31, 2004)
It looks good so far.. needs some sharpening up and a background. Nice hair. :)
Anna (Jun 1, 2004)
I like the colorin' in the hair :) Nice
Coolsoft (Jun 3, 2004)
I want to fix the hairline, the left eye, and a bit of shading one some of it, and I think that that is as sharp as I can make an image right now.

Maybe I should leave my experiments to the beginner board. Oil pencil on canvas? I don't know really, not very detailed.

davincipoppalag (May 31, 2004)

I'd appreciate if you guys stop insulting each other's beliefs. If you disagree with someone, tell them on your own time, somewhere else.

I'm not really finished, but because my computer with the tablet is down, I don't think I want to edit it anymore. (frowns and shakes head at the applett's trying to antialias the head on layer 1)
