Referring to Alex Katz's conception of realism, "realism has to do with over-all light, and every surface appearing distinctive." He may paint one landscape (for example), yet he implies many scenes. |

My first attempt at trying to draw a "fireworks" pic. The "ref" pic is way better.....I'm gonna work on it more to try to make it look better..:( Well.....I'm posting this as "finished".....I'm sick of "messin' with it!! This was way too frustrating.....I'll probably never do a "fireworks" draw again! "LOL"! The "time" is wrong though.....it didn't take me as long as it says.

The way you have depicted age with the sunken mouth, the collapsed brow and drooping eyelids, the wrinkled and thin translucent skin...and even the little hint of chin bristles...and yet her beauty and strong character shine through. What a portrait!
