WHEW ITS SO GORGEOUS-- LOVELY.The hands are well done, delicate; the skin and flesh glows with color. arrgh!! Axel, are you of Flemish, Dutch, or German extraction? you GOT the lighting!! it's as if it IS YOUR PAINTING originally. (mmmm would you ever try to replicate a model in similar lighting and complexion, cause you would do your own painting. ?? Ever consider it? I'm used to working from life models, or my brain, not photos. so I can see the potential you have. (it is hard to arrange models, lighting, and life settings in the real world. this is just so impressive. :)

I've been reading Game of Thrones and have resisted seeing the characters on the show. I've drawn what I think Hodor may look like.

Ah, very good! Don't resist forever because the casting for the series is pretty wonderful, especially for Danerys, Geoffrey, Tyrion, Arya, all the Lanisters are good as are all the Starks. Sansa is really starting to own her character. Arya and Tyrion are my favourite characters. Did you see the beautiful drawing Staci did of Danerys? http://2draw.net/view/123801/ Oops! Maybe you don't want to. I read all the books over about 2 months and felt lost when I finished the last one. I really got caught up in the story. |

There is a lot of movement like vibration almost, yet contained in it's own little spaces of swatched colour, almost segregated. There is some suggestion of blending yet not totally...which is necessary to keep the unique colour. Makes me think about countries like here in Australia with so many different cultures (colours) that are vibrant and try to all 'blend in' together yet inside know it isn't possible otherwise you lose that 'unique colour'. If that makes sense.

I was using the square brush.. and sometimes I have a light touch that creates what may look like those vibrations you said. Blend was definitely used.. I use blend a lot in my art. I have always wanted to go to Australia and scoff me some opals! |
