I think each of Dan's cartoons have a certain quality that only an Intermediate artist (or better) could achieve. The compositions were thought out and the concept for the series is a quick read, as they were intended. Many editorial cartoonist and illustrators use little to no color and have subtle backgrounds if any at all. The simplicity and style will probably be lost on folks who hold a finished picture to color and complexity. I like the series, it's refreshing and it's not Anime, keep em' coming Dan!

oo don't be so mean to each other >_<' lineart is hard! oh yeah and the pick is cute
Childlike_Vampire (Mar 10, 2005)
I will say ditto to Clox. I probably couldn't even copy this in thrice the time it took him to draw it. Especially the hands.
Axil62 (Mar 10, 2005)
Hey thanks for moving and saving them. Let me just explain that the reason two of them were on intermediate and one was on advanced was becase I was doing them fast and you can only post two on each board at a time, so I simply moved to the next level to keep posting. Also let me just say to Clox and CV, thanks for recognizing them for what they are and attempting to illuminate. Wise beyond your years I say.

Where are the mods? I keep seeing things that should either be deleted or moved. But it's still a nifty toon drawing ^_^! I love that kind if style.
featherstone (Mar 10, 2005)
I'll color this Dan if you want... then it can be saved perhaps... I like it
ILoveKenshin (Mar 10, 2005)
It's cute, but I don't personally think it's advanced. o_o

I like how they glow, too. If you let them stay here long enough maybe we can have wine and stuff.
Axil62 (Mar 9, 2005)
I see things that need to be fixed, things that glare at me now. I guess I'll fix em later.
pug106 (Mar 9, 2005)
These remind me more of a gooseberry, we had them in our garden when i was young. Love the glow!!

Wow, that's damn nifty.
Axil62 (Mar 9, 2005)
Thanks

Sometimes I try to refrain from commenting on your work because it seems like I just follow you around and wait for you to draw something new and great like this so I can look at it. (Don't tell anyone, but I do.) This reminded me of my Daddy's old worn out wrangler shirts that he wears to work around the ranch that I steal when they get old and soft. I like this picture alot and I had to say so.
kejoco (Mar 10, 2005)
I think the fact that you left the technique a little loose works really well with the subject
looks awesome dan
i'm sort of like dba, don't comment on all your pictures even though most of them are awesome because i feel i'll become redundant and none of the comments would mean anything

reference: http://www.helnwein.de/werke/home/home.html I was inspired to do a study from one of his paintings (oil and acrylic on canvas) after being directed to his site from a link that zep left on one of my drawings. This guy rocks my boat.

Helnwein...Helnwein...:O YES! I know who he is! I read a good book about him, and his paintings. It was him who did the medical pictures, right? And those images of famous people that were so dark you could only see in just the right light. This is goooood, Cindy, goooood.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Mar 9, 2005)
That's some pretty cool stuff, zep... once again. (and thanks, ya'll, it was fun and I learned alot)

This looks really good. Did a good job on the grass and fog. I'd like to see the sun behind the clouds on the right side of the image..actually it almost looks like there is.
featherstone (Mar 9, 2005)
I'll ask for more space if you two wanna add your horse and sun ;)

wow great colors on this O)
Childlike_Vampire (Mar 8, 2005)
We have handles like that on the doors in my house. Fortunately, we don't have a simliar paint job. But for this picture, the colors are awesome. Blue and orange is one of my favorite color combinations, even though I dislike orange for the most part. I think my favorite part of this is the shine on the door above the handle, the whole gradations of it.
Nice and smooth, I like it when you spend time and put some foreplay into it.
plasma_ooganator (Mar 12, 2005)
SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS!!!!!!!! I think.... great glass. blue and orange are opposites but they look great
