Ok... In the name of BabyJesusMas, Quanza, and the 8 dayz of Candlewax, I'll let my PhotoRealism Sarcasm go unreported... BUT JUST THIS ONCE!!!!
Fapel (Dec 23, 2008)
Amazing. This does remind me of a person in morgue, like what ChalkDust said. O:

i like this lots, you've got lots of form without much information, pretty admirable.
davincipoppalag (Dec 17, 2008)
Beautiful stuff Beanie , should have put it in the contest!
Axil62 (Dec 17, 2008)
Although it is pleasing, it's anything but silent, Dave. It oozes of music.

is that a kitten?
1~Lyra~7 (Dec 16, 2008)
yeah. She's one of my cats. All I could see was the back of her head...
Axil62 (Dec 17, 2008)
I was looking at whatever was new this morning, like I usualy do before work, and this one made me stare the longest. I'd say thats a good thing. Mr. Kenyon, my middle school art teacher about a hundred years ago, used to say that if people can't stop looking, even if they say they hate it, you've done well. Oh, and just to clarify, I don't hate this.

No reference, I started a different one before, but Lascaux tragically failed on me :(. Was ready to throw in my hat, but blue is a great color and snow and clouds a joy to draw.

Great looking gnarly tree, Joyce
Axil62 (Dec 16, 2008)

enjoydotcom (Dec 17, 2008)

ChalkDust (Dec 17, 2008)

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in undergrowth,
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black
Oh, I marked the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
Robert Frost ~ 1875

oh Aakyra, this is truly a master piece. So lovely. You put so much of yourself and attention to every aspect of your draws.
Aakyra (Jul 20, 2009)
Sorry for the delay in saying thanks! I do appreciate the thoughtful comments. And Grey Ghost, I love the poem, it really inspired me to work to the finish on this. The picture seemed to be a visual of the words. Thanks QT! I am always honored by a commeny from you, and Sun, good friends always!
sofballchik0323 (Aug 10, 2009)
oh this is beautiful!! the poem is great too, i actually sang a song with those words for as a solo a few years ago, my first thought when i saw this was that you had heard the song, it adds another level of meaning to the words as only music can. but this is an absolutely gorgeous painting and i hope you do more landscapes soon :)
Aakyra (Aug 10, 2009)
I am sure that your performance was wonderful... the words are really beautiful, and I didn't think until you mentioned it how lovely they would be set to music! Thank you for the comment, it was so very nice!

Saddam would have beheaded him AND killed his family. Freedom is a nice thing, I think they're getting used to it...they just have to learn TACT now.
QTgillie (Dec 26, 2008)
i missed this one, excellent Flubbles. Yes, he was quicker on dodging this shoe than he was when he received the info of the two towers when reading to elementary students. I guess he values his head more than our country? Oh Oh, I am going to get some flack on this one. Well done Flubbles.
mandyMAYHEMM (Dec 26, 2008)
haha, it takes skill to dodge shoes. (: hahah. i really don't like george bush though.. his laugh is scary too :S
