A portrait of my girlfriend Kiku ^_^ She's prettier than that, though.Sorry about the craptastic background, I couldn't think of anything else to do... And this did not take me an hour and a half, I scrapped about three drawings of her before this one.

p.s. handwritten japanese doesn't look quite like that. looks like you copied printed hiragana... mainly the ? and ? look odd. not sure what that ? is about, either, but I'm no expert.

I think it could be just that I have really bad handwriting... It does look pretty weird... *shrug* It gets the point across...Is there a font in Lascaux that can do hirigana? |

Heh... You use one layer per color or area. One for shading.. one for higlights.. one for the inked version... one for details... one for metallic details.. yeah..

i've tried to use lascaux sketch but i seriously dont get it...plus im pretty sure you can get more than three layers on shi painter and i dont need more than that..i dont think i've used more than four layers ever.. oh and nice pic btw :)

But I don't usually use this program... or... for that matter any program that's run off of the net. I like to use Photoshop 7.0 and I go for details. The outline... I've never done an outline on the computer before except for on this program because you can't upload them. Otherwise.. I would. Meh.. *shrugs* I'm not a really big fan of this program but it keeps me busy during Computer class. |

Hey, some of us see nothing wrong with "hippie words" -- and this piece merits the term, I think. It definitely depicts an altered perception of reality! All in all, a very cool, very promising work! Thanks for telling us a bit about the tools you're using, Zappo -- I haven't used Shi-Painter much, I'll have to try the pen, if it can contribute to results like this! :) Of course, the tool is nothing without the artistic vision, and I'd have to say that you have that, in spades! I really look forward to watching your work develop -- and this piece confirms it, I'll be bookmarking your gallery! :)

Wee! I drew this as an experiment with shading and a tribute to Christmas, and all the other holidays, because they are...ok, actually the holidays bug me, I just wanted to draw Kite and Typher together. ^_^ c & c plz!
