a red face.
Sweetcell (Jun 21, 2006)
I agree with Dave, it looks like an Aztec cave painting, or a painting on a pot. Very nice.

Great work - wonderful, evocative painting!
Axil62 (Jun 21, 2006)
Definately looks brushed on.

Great texture. Almost like a a mass of bricks were painted with acrylics. Good face and coloring. |

Hopefully it'll turn out decent. It's a picture of Between and her mother before she gained her strange appendage. (As always, harsh critique would rock. I'll take anything as long as it's not just wailing on my art. I'm not angry if it's got even the slightest bit of info on what to change but what really gets me is "It sucks" -_- because I'm a new artist and I know it sucks, that's why I want you amazing artists out there to tell me what I could do to..unsuck =3! Because lord knows I envy all of you here.)

actually, sweetcell, i think the neck is fine, the head just seems a bit far over...oh! -shoulder blades should probably be a bit higher up... -hind legs...i mean the shin bones should be shorter -the baby's head is too big. the fore legs make the mom look a bit like a mongoose...o.o *tilts head*
keikai (edited Jun 21, 2006)
Sorry I've been so dead lately Sweetcell. I've been really busy lately, but hopefully I'll be compensating for my lack of art with a ton of new, better art.Thank you both for the awesome critique ^^! I'll make sure to keep it in mind for next time. And actually now that I look back at it, the neck does remind me of a mashmallow xD oh well, better luck next time. The legs on the front doo look mongooseish...not a word but whatever. Between's (the baby's) head was probably my least favorite thing in the picture so that's something I'll fix next time. Anyways, I hope make good use of the wonderful critique you gave me! Thank once again! -hugs pandabarrie and Sweetcell-

LOOK IT ED...AGAIN!!! i love Ed...<3...can't wait to see it finishedText: He's everything you want
Why the pic looks white behind Edo: Light. LOT'S of light. Think about that and it won't seem so bothersome. Yes, the pic has SUDDENLY (gasp) become an EdxWin pic. I will try my best to fix the colors later but I won't guarantee anything. *cough*damnairbrushtool*cough*

umm can some one tell me how too use layers? plez i need a backrond can some one tell me how?
Backstabbed_and_broken (Jun 20, 2006)
why are you yelling at peanuts leave them be
CommaQueen (Jun 20, 2006)
Layer 0 is the bottom layer--it's where you should make your basic sketching and where you later can do the background/color the figures. Layer 1 is the top layer--don't use this layer until you're ready to make your final lineart, because you can't erase--if you use the tools to white stuff out it'll block it on the bottom. Think about them as layers of plastic that, when you paint on them, are no longer translucent. Hope that helps. :3im done i think she dont got a body lol XD
Sweetcell (Jun 20, 2006)
CommaQueen I have to disagree. Use the main layer, the one you start out with, as your background, the next layer sketch your design, or the third it doesn't matter, but make sure your sketch is clear for you to get the shape to ink (line.) Next layer do the lineart by using the airbrush at med/low opacity and flow and make the lines thicker than you would, that way you can come back with the eraser on low to med/low opacity and shave the thickness down to what you want, not only do you get nice even lines this way but they're clean and very smooth. Make sure anti-alias is on. Then use another layer to color it in. Don't worry about going over the lines because you can erase the color that bled through (you also save your lineart.) You can get rid of your sketch layer now, unless your going to do a complicated background then you can use it as part of the background. I hope that makes sense. I always describe layers as tracing paper. You put tracing paper over an image you can trace that image and color it without ruining the original picture.Hope that helps peanut. You'll find the layers on the left of the screen. Place you mouse over the icons and read what they are. The paper on the far left is the add layer tool. |
