Truffle, I'd suggest you start off with Lascaux Sketch before moving on to Oekaki Shi-Painter.
I'm still starting with Lascaux, and still think that Oekaki Shi-Painter is a little advanced for me.
Try Lascaux once or twice, and maybe you can get a hang of it before starting Oekaki again.
Keep in mind that this is what I'd suggest, that doesn't mean you MUST start off with Lascaux.
But, Lascaux is recommended for beginners such as you and me.

i actually do see a bit of difference between this and a few of your other recent pics. the braids are really cool to me. i dont know, but i guess just putting in those extra squiggles of color gave it just the right look. the one thing about this pic that actually bothers me though is the extra black coming down her forehead. be sure to trim off excess color so it doesnt look hazy.
good job otherwise!
