Fill tool, avoid it. Use layers and put down a base of color then another layer for shading and highlights. Thin the lineart, round out the face, take advantage of the line tool for the wand, put in a bg other than white and try to spend more time on your pieces. Read the rules to be sure.

TehFailure: Thanks!Sweetcell: I was just testing it out, but anyways I have photoshop now. More layers, and much easier to work with. Also, i like the lineart to be that thick, it's on purpose. Thanks for the help though! |

Hey kiddo what an improvement in such a short time. See how better things are when you put a solid base down? And I can see your getting used to layers. Just try putting a shadow underneath them so they don't look like they're floating above the grass. Keep it up and memo me if you need more help.My favorite line from the movie "Come on Bambi, look," *thumpthumpthump* "The water's stiff."

Since the days have been getting longer, and I've been driving home from work while there's still sunlight out, I've been inspired by a lot of the scenery I pass by. The sunsets along the countryside is so beautiful. On the days that my carpool drives, I always feel really lucky to be able to enjoy the beauty that life has to offer (and in some respects, I guess I'm glad the car ride is so long... I drive 40 miles to work every day). Although I've been in a drawing rut for the past few months, each time I experience a beautiful view, I'm inspired to draw it down, even though my skills are nowhere near good enough to capture these fleeting moments as they pass me by. One of these days I'll come back and attempt something more inspiring, and hopefully do it justice. :)I think I was trying to go for "rolling hills" but I feel like they look more like green-shaded breasts in the foreground... -_-;;;
