I'm not sure if you already do, but try using the pen tool to do lineart, it makes it appear very smooth. ^_^ I like the pose, it's very cute, but try making the mouth a bit smaller, and work on your lineart. Cute idea.

I usually use the pen tool, and I really wasn't paying attention to the mouth, I almost passed out at the keyboard.

Since you say it'll be scary later I'm wondering if you're planning on adjusting the expression. As it is she looks somewhat happy and has an anticipating look to her, sort of like a puppy. Maybe if you changed it enough that she's not so innocently happy but more in a sinister way then combined with the anticipation she'd look like she's about to attack?

I think now it's looking a bit disturbing, and the harsher lighting helps a lot. To some extent there's an aspect of fear here, partly from her looking scared and partly from us being concerned about what it is she's seeing/experiencing that has her in this state, but I'm not sensing the fear being something that she is purposefully causing. It's more like she's the one in fear and we feel it through her. The pure and near-pure whites you've used in her, her clothes, and the background all add up to giving an impression of hositalization. Maybe she's in a mental hospital? The collar on her neck certainly indicates bondage and being inprisoned because of the chain link on it. If you wanted to explore that further you could have some aspect of being wrongfully placed in a mental institute, something that does sometimes happen and is a very real fear that many people have.

I got the reference pic from my hubby's nintindo power mag. This was intended for intermediate, please move.I found the silver reflections on the elevator doors hard to acomplish. Does anyone have any hint on light reflections and flesh tones?

Gosh, before you do anything else to the picture, can you edit the TITLE? C'mon. Spell his name properly. I know the picture looks nice and it obviously is him but, you know, it's a show that a lot of people talk about in the anime world (mainly popular with younger teens). Just don't be lazy in typing. But this is a good start. He looks really fierce--like he's ready to unleash his demon side. I'd like to see this colored.

[edit] And sorry if I got picky about the title. I like this show though and his name has a special meaning to it--misspelling it is a bit of an insult. [/edit]

Yes..anime is hard to do right ( I tried) I don't like much of what we see, but there are some really good anime artists here. The lines are pixelly, so definately use the antialias setting and smooth them out on the next one. You did well.!
