How to draw
From 2drawWiki
You wanna learn to draw?
Get off your computer and go draw people and all types of life around you, with a pencil or charcoal. Draw as often as you can, everyday if possible, with some luck you just might get good at it. The computer is a poor substitute for a pencil and paper if you really want to learn to draw. Trust me, if you learn to draw life with a pencil, other mediums will be easier to master. Don't agree? I don't think all those college professors, fine artists and illustrators who taught me are wrong... so get drawing spanky!

Of course, everyone knows, if you want to be really, really good at drawing you have to cut your ear off, drink absinthe, live in Europe, fall in love with ugly women (or men), embrace depression, do drugs, drink heavily, smoke everything and be poor... oh and catch syphillis too. Not recommended for the average female 13 year old 2draw member. You can still be talented and respectable if you keep drawing anime fanart... well, you can pretend anyways. |
[edit] General Tips
- drawing with a pen can help improve your skills
(why?: because it forces you to just use lines and shadow with cross hatching and etc....)
- draw with your shoulder!!!
(why?: because you have more control over the pen/pencil/mouse/art utencil and more you can cover more space then your wrist or elbow)
- drawing is visually mastered
(why?: because,in your head, you see what you draw. People see things like they want to, and draw it. It's like their style. In other words, drawing fanart and anime all the time won't help you improve your drawing skills)
- If you can draw realism well, you can draw anything
(why?: Because you can see anything the way you aren't to. You're mind isn't limited, and you have all the shading and coloring and art techniques down. You can do anything with them)
- Don't be discouraged by others who can draw very well and critiscism
(why?: because then you lack the will and want to draw and to do better, and there is something wrong with that in itself. When people critisize just do better. Life isn't fair.)
