I tried to paint my baby brother's highway patrol car (some of you were unfortunate enough to get a glimpse of my attempt) I gave up on it, I just couldn't get the wheels right. This http://new.photos.yahoo.com/deadlyblondearcher/album/576460762310485368/photo/294928803036212293/0 was the car I was painting. He came over day before yesterday to have lunch with me, I took a picture of him with his current car... it's thishttp://new.photos.yahoo.com/deadlyblondearcher/album/576460762310485368/photo/294928804383901133/7 ugly Ford with ugly rims, :O ANYWAY.... so I'm painting his badge, instead.

I know it seems relatively boring and rather "sterile" for a piece of art, but I really wanted to do it, so I AM. :)

I spent most of this revision yacking in memos. Gotta love this place.

He was off today, and he came over again to spend the afternoon with me. We spent a lot of time talking and laughing, like we always do. When we look at each other, it's like looking into a mental mirror, almost...we never have to "explain" anything... we just know. It's such a wonderful gift to have that kind of understanding and connection with someone.

I changed the title to the picture on this revision, because as he was leaving he popped a cd out of his mustang and said... "Here, if something happens to me, play #9 at my funeral." He's never dramatic or anything like that, we were raised to look at death "matter of factly", which we do. My usual reaction to something like that would normally have been "Don't talk like that, nothing's going to happen to you... blah..."...Even though it kind of gave me chills, I just took it from his hand and said, "Ok, consider it done." We said our "I love you's" and he drove off.

It was a very cold reminder that my brothers do live "under the gun" on a daily basis.
I'm still planning on dying before both of them. I wouldn't be able to stand it any other way.

Waitin' at a stop light yesterday as a funeral procession made it's way
through the gates
I watched it roll up a winding road through a field of green with white headstones all in a row
And it made me think about where I'm at
On my not so straight and narrow path
All the generous and mostly undeserved
Blessings that I've had

I had an all-American mom and dad
Some of the coolest friends you could ever have
Found love I thought I'd never find
Sometimes I can't believe this life in mine
And I'm not plannin' on leavin' yet
But the truth is you just never know
And if this is as good as it gets
Man, I think I'm good to go
I'm good to go

I said a prayer for the dearly departed
And the loved ones left broken hearted
Then traffic started

And I drove away a little more able
To see the good things on my table
And for that I'm grateful
'Cause I've had my troubles and my trials
I've hit the mark and I've missed by miles
Had days that I've been fightin' mad
But the good times have more than
Outweighed the bad

Got to hold my newborn baby girl
And the hand of a man as he slipped from this world
I've laughed so hard I couldn't stop
Seen the sunrise from a mountain top
And I'm not plannin' on leavin' yet
But the truth is you just never know
And if this is as good as it gets
Man, I think I'm good to go

Yeah, I've been thinkin' bout where I'm at
On my not so straight and narrow path
And I wouldn't wanna change nothing about
This roll with the punches life I've had

Had an all-American mom and dad
Some of the coolest friends you could ever have
Found love I thought I'd never find
I can't believe this life in mine
And I'm not plannin' on leavin' yet
But the truth is you just never know
And if this is as good as it gets
Man, I think I'm good to go
I'm good to go
I'm good to go

Your so personal with your pictures and opened your life to us so much it's as though we know you personally. I don't think I could do that if one of my brothers ask that of me. Your an endearing person DBA.

On that gushy note :) this is all kinds of shiny and I like how you got the different colors throughout, like reflctions of things around it. I just knew this was yours the minute I saw it.

An wouldn't you kno it, computerslagging and my damn keyboards spittin up lost vowels and consonants. Must go fix.

Thanks, Barb. :) I'm an "open book" everywhere... some people like it, some people hate it, I can't help it, either way. I adore both of my brothers and I'm very proud of both of them. They are my very best friends, and I love them dearly.
lori (May 19, 2007)
yay :) it's about time you loved a cat
DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited Aug 1, 2007)
cats....
Sweetcell (May 19, 2007)
A cat. I always knew you had it in you. ;)

Maybe you can get a root off the tree and plant it in your garden. Kay it's late and I'm loopey.
enjoydotcom (May 19, 2007)
I really liked that car you did, was a bit sad you decided you removed it.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited Aug 1, 2007)
edit: thank you so much, enjoy, you're sweet to say so, but some of us just weren't cut out to do certain things. If you want to see the most exceptional examples of cars in art.... there are two here at 2draw: this one is perfectly HOT, and this one is perfectly COOL

The only way I'd be satisfied with a Texas Highway Patrol car here, is if one of those two painted one... then I'd be thrilled. :) It wasn't "sad" that I decided not to finish it, it was just SAD, period. :)
davincipoppalag (May 19, 2007)
Once again..you painted up a picture with your words as well as your art....explaining in events what it is to feel love for siblings...and other things...pay attention kids.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited May 20, 2007)
The badge has a long way to go before it's finished, it might be a few days because I have some important things to take care of.... where I'll have "no connection". Thanks for that, Dave. :)

I love the way you're doing the red-ish shine on the right part :-D, looks real metallic.

Awww, Button is a cute as a button. (I've never found a regular button to be cute, but its an English expression if I'm not mistaken). A cat person myself, I do not find it hard to like them.

Yeah I've seen those 2 cars come by in the showcase 'train'. They make my chin hurt from dropping on the table each time. Once I drew one of my bf's motorbikes, came out rather nice must say. Pandering whether to do the other bike too...
Miss_DJ (May 21, 2007)
fine badge there, Ms Cindy! (nice work on that motorbike, enjoy!!)

missed ya'll while I was in AZ. We had a wonderful time! (hey, Button is a cutie pie, they're always cute as kittens, right? 'Raise her into a nice CAT, then she'll be alright in my book)
MrPaul (May 21, 2007)
HEEEEEY! Now that's a purdy picture. :P It's a friendly reminder for me, this weekend i was the lucky recipient of a $10 ticket for having the car parked facing the wrong direction in front of my house! sheesh!! :P Texas' finest sure have a funny way of servin 'n protectin in these parts! haha
