You just think you've come a long way, baby. We've always been there.

I referenced a vintage photograph to do this one... too bad everyone that knows anything about her is probably dead - bet there's a heckuva story behind that.

Are you editing your advanced stuff on the day the mods are reviewing just to confuse them? This is lovely DBA. The sepia tint gives it such a soft feel. I really like the depth between her hands holding the whip and the chair. And her hair is gorgeous. I wish I had hair like that. Nice job.
davincipoppalag (edited Jun 9, 2004)
Beautiful job Cindy. This looks alot like an old photo we have of my Grandmother from England.. nice sepia tone too! (PS..she left the whip in England)

Whip it good! Excellent job. I love old photographs, my basement is full of them. This lady definitely has an attitude. I'll bet she was a hand full.
Gigandas (Jun 9, 2004)
!!!....just the thumbnail caught me full attention^^;;;...this is awesome DBA XD!That nice old fashioned look really speaks out.Love the hair :).The dress is just friggin cool with all the detail you've put into it.I think the hands look the most realistic here^^.Great dimensioning. This one is another one of your "WOW" pics DBA :).Very nice....
emmamommalag (Jun 9, 2004)
Everything about this is excellent. It's one of your best... that's for sure.
Axil62 (Jun 9, 2004)
Those hands are so wonderfuly done Cindy. What's going on with the left (her left) side of her jaw line?
DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited Jun 9, 2004)
I'm not sure exacty what you mean... that's exactly what it looks like in the photograph I referenced. The tilt of her head and the angle of her face cause more of that side to be visible and more light hits it... there's no definition there. Tell me what you mean and how you think I can remedy it? (It is a little fuzzy and lumpy...that's all I can see that I could fix... or maybe take a little license and whittle it down or give it some depth..?)
Axil62 (Jun 9, 2004)
I'd like to help but I have to go eat some Cap'n Crunch now.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited Jun 9, 2004)
Smart ass. (Although it was really effed up, don't know why I didn't see that)

There. It's fixed now, I think. I can't tell through all of these tears, since Axil would rather eat cereal than help me. :(
xwindflyer (Jun 9, 2004)
Much better it doesn't pay to mess with axil when he's hungry. Don't take it personal.. :o)
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jun 9, 2004)
Seriously, I'm glad he pointed it out. It was horrendous. I think I'm going blind... I do this for a while and I can't see anymore until I rest my eyes for a while. It just breaks my heart he would leave me stranded for cereal. (My husband gets mean if I don't cook for him, too.) :)
Zack (edited Jun 9, 2004)
It was tough love. He knew you could figure it out, if you would just believe in yourself.

Besides, it was Cap'n Crunch. If it was Fruity Pebbles I could understand you getting your feelings hurt, but Cap'n Crunch is important.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jun 9, 2004)
But, it wasn't Peanut Butter Cap'n Crunch... I would leave Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, etc., etc., waiting patiently for me for peanut butter Cap'n Crunch...it was PLAIN, and it has DOO DOO in it. Check his gallery! I'm sorry, I just don't think I love him anymore. It's just over.
Zack (Jun 9, 2004)
Maybe you should draw a little violin to play a sad song for yourself. :P
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jun 9, 2004)
I prefer a steel guitar, and I like big stuff, but okay.
Aubrey (Jun 9, 2004)
I had no idea pictures like that even EXISTED back then lol Great old timey picture Cindy.
xwindflyer (Jun 10, 2004)
WOW, hey, uh, I, I uh, just noticed the whip!.... uh, wow you mean? uh, really?... first handcuffs, now whips.. where are the chains?
Gigge (Jun 10, 2004)
Well, the change is certainly much cleaner and sharper. But, she lost that soft pouty look that was such a contrast to the harshness of the whip and the masculine pose in the chair. The darker shadows on the lower faces also gave her a battle weary look that made her seem as if she had a story to tell. But, she's gone from intriguing to beautiful....not a bad exchange. ;)
LovelyLori (Jun 10, 2004)
Cindy, just tell me, how do you do all these pictures so often without hitting a wall and getting completely exhausted? is this stuff easy for you? is it fun? it's work for me... I enjoy it... but it's serious work...
DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited Jun 10, 2004)
Yes, it's work... but I love it, and I have a really good reason for working really hard to get better at it fast. :)
edit: Oh, and my eyes do get tired (blind, really) and my hand cramps... but it's creative energy and I have to do something with it... the rest of my time I spend outside doing really physical stuff so it all balances out.
emmamommalag (Jun 10, 2004)
I liked it just fine before the revision but it is still awesome, Dead. You have a wonderful talent. : ) *wonders what is that really good reason for getting better fast..
Sandra (Jun 10, 2004)
Oh, that is cute! ^^ I love her dress. XD
CRAZYCHICA (Jun 17, 2004)
