Don't know if this is a self portrait but it's the woman I see when I think of you and I know I said that about one of Teapot's pictures too but it's just funny how we tend to draw characters similar to ourselves. Do you have pronounced cheekbones like this?
dorothyblueeyes (Mar 13, 2013)
yes, l do have high cheek-bones. heh heh. and I have very fair skin, and curly, short hair (l need a 'haircut) it faded from red, long ago, to-gilt blonde, and now duller.l have large blue-gray eyes. (but now I have bags under them.)I'm 5' 5" and 1\2 in. I but tend to look tall cause my arms & legS are long. Now, I look like someone's Mom, or grandma. my Weight is too high, now. Nuts! it's hard sunless you runaround, use up the calories. I do look a bit like the pic, except I am not that young..

l think people tend to draw themselves, cause it's the image you see in the mirror, all the time. You know what you look like!- ~. unless you're got models, it's the closest memory. and if you need a model, look in the mirror ! even Rembrandt did self-portraits; I remember one, where he looked depressed.- or sad. (sensitive people like that get depressed easier,l think, cause they feel more, and so its easier to feel all the pain you see everywhere, it affects you more. a psychologist told me,when she found out l was an artist, life would be harder, then.)

I even feel sorry for dead mice now.Every little critter.I guess I'm sad cause of age, now.I lost a lot of people(everyone does) Get this!--l now have a lot more money, than when l was young, but it does not make much difference.it's a little more security, but the fed.govt. is constantly trying to take all of it!And I'm not even one of the rich ones!

You have to be a billionaire in the U.S.,to Keep from losing it ALL to the fed. govt.!they're the only ones who get to Keep any of it!(all my low-income-wages, friends are getting taxed to death now.) l still hate getting old,you lose more than you gain.I hate to tell younger people that, but I need a sweat-shirt that says, "OLD AGE Sucks!" cause it does. Nice to talk to you, Lori.:)....
lori (Mar 14, 2013)
I knew it :) yes, the older I get the more it sucks as well... unless I can get myself into better shape somehow soon, I will be damn near cripple in a few years... going to physical therapy and a spine dr. now

Lori, I'm fairly lucky, I just have arthritis in my feet, and "stage 2" spine stage; disk deterioration (?) and I just have to keep going to A chiropractor, otherwise my legs get the nerve pinched, that goes down the backs of yer legs. I have to use a power.-chair for longer, outdoor excursions.

But l was a mess, before I went to the chiropractor, in lots of by pain, and feet pain, the chiropractics work.very well. like A miracle! I'm so much better from chiropractics. I can get up, walk around; so much better! I had no idea chiropractics works so well, for back and spine problems. Regular doctors were so dumb, they didn't know what to do; one suggested cutting the nerves, so no feeling-shit.

Man.l don't trust medical doctors now, with my spine! NONE of them told me," you need to go to a chiropractor," they would have operated later. :0 And l didn't NEED an OPERATION! Sheesh! I just needed my spine adjusted, regularly. And even my medical doctor says I'm better! I wonder how many people get unneeded back-operations. ha ha---~when theY just need to go see a chiropractor.I took "Glucosamine-chandrotin" really helped my feet A LoT, too!-

I can recommend going to an experienced, good, chiropractor, if you have back problems."or pain down your legs.A lot of that stuff is pinched nerves. But for years, before, l Kept going to medical doctors, and they didn't help. it at all.

l cant believe how I had to turn to "alternative medicine," and it worked. Wow!

I'm still kicking..much to the disappointment of a few I'm sure...;)

B.OY, l really need to learn how to Paint "the pressure of the pen, and the paint, is just not working for me; maybe my tablet or Pen (the pens wear out all the time) Tis screwing up my touch during painting I and I notice my pen is scratching. too much, New Pen! there pens can't be repairs, can theB? Anyone know, if person or companies repair these pens? well, enough scratching! My right hand is so painful, (arthritis) gives me trouble with pen. How are you, Lori? Anyone else get physical difficulties meow, painting or drawing? Mine is just old age, and overusing my hand, hands, all my life. (l jUst used DMSO on hands, felt better) ;)

yeah, guys, it does, doesn't it? Sorry, Pawille; would bracing it with your left hand, help it? I've had to do that, get some support.so it won't shake so much.I even practice with the left, in case the right goes Pooh someday. (They said Monet had his paint-brush tied to his hand, at the end, so he kept painting,)

one of the EphRON sisters just died, you know, the writers? One of them wrote this great essay, on turning 60 to 65, and she told how her life-long friend got a lump on her tonque, or throat, and she was dead in a year.

It was in" Vogue magazine ". it was A great article, and she told the reality, of being 60 yrs. old: reality! no sugar-coating the subject. that was the best, realistic true piece I've ever read on the subject. and it. was in a fashion magazine. (it was a couple years ago,l can look it up; wish I could upload it.it might be online under "Vogue articles," or "Nora EphRon; or just Ephron sisters".

But that article really was honest-and excellent writing, (my-therapist had the best line: "Old age is not for sissys",}I hope you. both feel, and get better, no matter what it is. l could tell you real stories, of people .| Know, who doctors expected to die, years ago, and they're still alive and kicking. I guess doctors don't know everything.:)

Dot I am ok just going through a lot now. My comma doesn't work on my keyboard so don't mind run-on sentences... My father had a total knee replacement and is in a hospital bed in our family room here.. he wanted to recover at home and it's been a lot of work for me along with my son who may be sick today.. well as of last night anyway..so it's up/down up/down the stairs and off my ass... I ran out of pain meds about four days ago and the leg and back really started hurtin again from all I'm doing (taking care of my dog who's having seizures and 3 cats as well)..so anyway.. went to the dr. last night and he said I need to start thinking about having an operation since I can't handle doing that much anymore without pain... and showed me how much my vertebrae had moved within my spine and recommended an operation... what is next.. I mean c'mon!
pawillie (Mar 28, 2013)
thanks dorothy, looks like a lot of us are going through a hard time, I am trying different methods to control my right hand and am working on another drawing and it is taking a long time but I will see if I can finish it. Lori, I had severe back problems as well but waited to long to have surgery so it took 9 hours in the operating room and I ended up with multiple complications ans almost died 4 times and now I cant walk. I should have had it done sooner
