(reworded), why did you ask for the ref pic to help me then use it for your own draw
Bobstained (edited Apr 27, 2010)
You never gave me the ref shults did. Are you pissy with me now? if you want one of my reference pics dont hesitate to ask.
firecracker (Apr 27, 2010)
I think this pic looks pretty good......but I also think "L&C's" draw looks good too......you each have your own style of drawing.....and both styles look good to me....:)

Flubbles (Apr 27, 2010)
Originally I was just going to draw the vail type head scarf thing to show you how I would do it without using textures, but then I just started drawing the whole thing. I dont see why your all pissy, if you used somebodies recipe for an apple pie does that mean nobody else should use the same recipe?
lynnandcharlie (Apr 27, 2010)
no but you also said I did not give you the ref, that shults did
Flubbles (edited Apr 27, 2010)
She did she left it on your draw, thats where I got it from. Although I searched for a better quality one.
shults (edited Apr 28, 2010)
Did you know there's a sequel?
He did one in 1460, and another one five years later
I think you should try soften her facial features.

Interesting to see the two versions. I like the first one much more...the softer quality of it. But the features are off. The mouth is on a different plane than the nose and chin in the first one. And the outside eye does not represent the rounded aspect of the face in either painting. I noticed the same thing in most of his portraits. He had a hard time getting the perspective lines accurate on the curved surface. It would drive me crazy trying to make a fair copy of it because I would keep wanting to correct his faulty anatomy. I see you had to fix it, too, since, in your drawing, the features are drawn correctly. Beautiful job on the silken gauze wimple. You really captured the semi-transparent quality and the stiff starched texture of that fabric.
lynnandcharlie (Apr 28, 2010)
you are right teapot, I did more work on the mouth but need to figure out how to fix the eye
Teapot (Apr 28, 2010)
It's not easy to get right, especially when the eyes have such a lovely upward slant at the outside edge as with this woman.
shults (Apr 28, 2010)
Could you explain "And the outside eye does not represent the rounded aspect of the face in either painting"?
staci (Apr 28, 2010)
what a jerk.

I know, I couldn't see her problem either.

The skin in your portraits always looks like metal (copper-like), which makes your portraits unnatural and rather scary looking to me.

Your opinion doesn't count because your to scared to use your own name.

It looks to me like her right eye and her mouth are facing toward us too much in relationship to the angle of her nose and chin. Who knows? Maybe her face really looked like that. It just feels a bit wrong to me. You realize I'm talking about the original painting, right? Not Flubbles version.
