I'm loving it! It looks great..did you do something to the pebbles? I couldn't possibly have done those! ;) The color looks really good. =)

Blocked in a few more and if I am home tonight I will do more on them. I'm getting anxious now.

All the pebbles are finished unless you want to fine tune them a little. :D
jekyll (Apr 12, 2010)
The pebbles look great! All I really have to do is fine tune the large rock and background.
Suntan (Apr 12, 2010)
ok! I see the bottom right hand corner needs some tweeking and the pebbles, I think, need some shadow...but I didn't want to mess with the layers. They look like they are floating or something...Oh, and the little white pebble on the left resting on the larger rock, looks odd. What do you think.? I don't like that one lol
jekyll (Apr 12, 2010)
I meant to get rid of that little white one when I last worked on it. The shadows are actually easy and fun to do. I'll finish the detail on the BG and then we can work on shadows.
jekyll (Apr 12, 2010)
drawn in 58 min
A few shadows and we should be able to finish up unless you can think of something else.
Suntan (Apr 12, 2010)
Sounds good.
Suntan (Apr 13, 2010)

do we need to dodge anything? hit it with a little if you think so, I might have too much of a heavy hand with it. ;p how did I do on the pebble shadows, look ok?
jekyll (Apr 13, 2010)
The shadows look good. Maybe just an intense thin line on the leading edge of the more prominent pebbles. You can dodge the pebbles if you like. The opacity and flow can be adjusted for some interesting effects. Have fun! It's your piece too!
Suntan (edited Apr 13, 2010)
leading edge of the more prominent pebbles?...sorry, that's new to me...do you mean leading edge of the shadow?..thanks for being so patient with me!! heh!
Suntan (Apr 13, 2010)
drawn in 6 min
My dodge isn't working!! :(
You'll have to do it.
jekyll (Apr 13, 2010)
I knew what I said didn't make any sense. I just got home from work and my granddaughter was bouncing all over me, playing with my mouse and pressing buttons on my tablet. What I meant was to outline the area where the pebble meets the shadow and to just do the ones with exposed edges......I think that's what I meant.
Suntan (Apr 13, 2010)
got it
Suntan (edited Apr 13, 2010)

I think I'm finished. It's the best I can do, any more fiddling around and I will mess it up for sure. last check for you, and I say send it on if you're ready to. :)

Tweaked it a bit. What do ya think?

Great job on some of those pebbles, I love pebbles <3.
Arique (Apr 13, 2010)
Oh... those rocks are wonderful. Nice job
Teapot (edited Apr 19, 2010)
I like the swirly sandstone or sand in the background...the contrast of that with the hard, precise rock shapes is very pleasing.
Miss_DJ (Apr 13, 2010)
ooo nice you two!
firecracker (Apr 14, 2010)
This is lookin' great so far.......it reminds me of the artist known as "Starzshine"......I remember a draw that she did at "floatingginkgo".....it was sorta similar to this draw.....it was of pebbles and stones and seashells.....I think it won the "floatingginkgo award". I wonder whatever became of her....she's an awesome artist. Anyways.....I think this draw is looking great, and I'm sure that it will be totally awesome when you guys finish it.......:)
davincipoppalag (Apr 14, 2010)
You guys are a good team! Nice work
elly (Apr 14, 2010)
I'm amazed at the perspective that y'all drew this in...gives me the feeling that I'm standing directly over these rocks and even almost looking between my feet to see the rocks at the bottom of the canvas! I see a nose in the sandstone along with a classic-Sunny-swirl (???) I once made pepples that looked much like these out of rolled fondant for a cake I made that looked like a 2 tiered deck once =) The cake took 1st place in a Father's Day cake competition =) GREAT job y'all!!!!
lynnandcharlie (Apr 14, 2010)
this lookso real I swear I could reach down and pick up some rocks and I love the colors
Bobstained (Apr 14, 2010)
Jekyll and suntan sitting in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G.
firecracker (Apr 14, 2010)
You're just jealous "flubadub".....you wish it was you sittin' in the tree, instead of jekyll....."lolz"!!! :P

Suntan (Apr 15, 2010)
Thanks! All the credit goes to Jekyll..he was very patient with me, as you can imagine, this being my first one. It took me 6 months to get back to those pebbles and it was fun. I enjoyed it. Thanks for the kind comments, everyone, except for bob who is an idiot.
Bobstained (Apr 15, 2010)
I'm quite fond of you too.
Roytje (Apr 15, 2010)
It wasn't your first one, Suntan. It is your best one, though.
Flubbles (Apr 15, 2010)
What! Even better than my penis party?
Roytje (Apr 15, 2010)
I don't like penis parties. Sorry.
Suntan (Apr 15, 2010)
lol, you're right..that one escaped me, I forgot..
Roytje (Apr 15, 2010)
I can imagine why.
Suntan (Apr 15, 2010)
;)
Bobstained (Apr 15, 2010)
I'm deeply offended.
jekyll (Apr 15, 2010)
Ouch, Bob....she forgot.... Haha! But really, this picture is all about the cluster of stones and Suntan did 95 percent of them. She expressed an interest in trying realism and I think she pulled it off rather well. Suntan is well known for her speedy compositions so it was a kick to see her slow down a bit for this one. I'm very glad to have had a chance to work with her! Thank you for your comments, everybody, and Bob, you'll get over it....
Flubbles (Apr 15, 2010)
When my dad was alive he used to work on a quarry, and he used to always bring me back cool looking stones for my rockery I had out in the back garden. This reminds me of the rockery I once cared for.
bette_davis_eyes (Apr 20, 2010)
this is great, it looks so real :)
Suntan (Apr 24, 2010)
I don't want to speak for jekyll, but I will. We both thank you, bette. ;)
jekyll (Apr 24, 2010)
Yes, thank you, Bette! I just don't feel like I did all that much to this one. The timer says I spent 6 hours on this but most of that time was spent experimenting as I'm not all that familiar with Lascaux. I also tend to wander from my computer.....I wander a lot
lynnandcharlie (Apr 24, 2010)
I am soooooooooooooooooooo JEALOUS, this is this is such a beautiful artistic piece

Suntan (Nov 15, 2010)

Axil62 (Nov 15, 2010)
