Flying soon? Consider fasting. With this new airline, Derrie-Air, remember: The more you weigh, the more you pay.
Imagine how much weight frequent fliers would be motivated lose if they knew they were going to be charged on a per-pound basis for each business trip. Derrie-Air charges $2.25 to fly from Philadelphia to Los Angeles. A 200-pound passenger would need to pay $450 for this trip, while someone who is only 120 pounds would only be paying $270. Fair? Perhaps so, especially with the rising cost of fuel.

Oranges are my favorite subjects to draw. It’s partly because they’re so easy to draw: just pick your favorite shade of orange, use the circle tool in any drawing or painting program, and shift-drag.
I started drawing oranges about six years ago. At the time I was in college and working on my personal homepage, which I had decided would be based around the theme of oranges. I was experimenting with the large variety of drawing/painting programs & scripting tools on the computers in the computer lab, and decided to use each one to make something related to oranges.

Some of the most beautiful designs I saw this week were innate in nature. Over spring break I went to a handful of museums in Philadelphia, Princeton, and NYC. While there’s plenty to say about each of them and their exhibits, it was the design apparent in nature that caught my eye. I visited Longwood Gardens, an estate near Kennett Square, PA, owned by the du Pont family. It’s a beautifully landscaped lot, parts of it recalling the Gardens of Versailles. Unfortunately at this time of year there wasn’t much to see outdoors, but they had a really nice, well-maintained conservatory.

As an avid reader of manga, there are only a couple authors in my opinion whose works have placed them clearly above the rest. Today’s post is about one such mangaka, the author of Yu Yu Hakusho and HunterXHunter, Yoshihiro Togashi.
Mangaka is the Japanese word for a comic artist. Outside of Japan manga usually refers to a Japanese comic book and mangaka refers to the author, who tends to be Japanese.
Yoshihiro understands the medium of manga. As a sequential art, Yoshihiro uses the images to naturally carry forward the story without distracting the reader with the layout. His pacing is superb, creating an enjoyable atmosphere while avoiding boredom. The only time I feel myself being distracted from the story is when I’m admiring the ingenious simplicity of some of his layouts. He is a master storyteller.

Who is this sexy enigmatic girl who is often seen with her big distinctive red headphones?
An artist’s muse comes in many shapes and forms. This lively girl named Pepper comes in more forms than most can imagine. She is a samurai, a robot, a princess; sometimes sketched, sometimes inked, sometimes painted; a futuristic adventurer, a 60s advertisement, a page out of a children’s storybook. She tells a story of adventure and romance, but more than that she shows us exploration and development of different forms of art.

The sun is out. It’s a beautiful spring afternoon. Come join us on our lovely patio for a cup of tea (and some yummy papaya). The only complaint you may have is that the neighbor’s horses keep running around, kicking up dust, and our other neighbors’ cocks keep crowing, which is not as bad as the horses’ smell, I guess. This is the farm life. It’s beautiful, but a little smelly at times.

Have you seen Pirate Baby’s Cabana Battle Street Fight 2006 yet? This amazing animation was done by Paul Robertson and he’s coming out with a new animation soon entitled Kings of Power 4 Billion %. Don’t say I didn’t warn ya though, these animated goodies are filled to the brim with zombies, gory violence, and yes, babies (or baby-like things).
